Shalom! My name is Adam Pastor

Welcome to ADONI MESSIAH which means
"My Lord Messiah" -
a fitting epithet to who Jesus (or Yeshua) is!

Here, I attempt to present the Apostolic Truths according to the Scriptures, that there is
One GOD, the Father, namely, YAHWEH,
and One Lord, GOD's only begotten Son,
Yeshua the Messiah.

And that one day YAHWEH will send His Son back to Earth to inaugurate the Everlasting Kingdom of GOD

Enjoy!

15 Scriptural Reasons for the Biblical Unitarian Position by Kegan A. Chandler

15 Scriptural Reasons for the Biblical Unitarian Position

by Kegan A. Chandler

1) Scripture Always says
God is One, Never says God is Three or Three-In-One

Jesus says the greatest commandment is to understand that God is one and to love Him.
Nowhere does any Scripture attest that God is three.

HEBREW TESTIMONY
Deuteronomy 4:35
YHWH, He is God; there is no other besides Him.

Deuteronomy 32:39
See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me.

Deuteronomy 6:4
Hear, O’ Israel,
YHWH is our God, YHWH is one.

Isaiah 46:9
I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me.

Nehemiah 9:6
You alone are YHWH…
Malachi 2:10
Do we not all have one Father? Has not one God created us?

JESUS’ TESTIMONY

Mark 12:29
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord."

John 5:44
"…you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God."

APOSTOLIC TESTIMONY

Romans 3:30
… Since indeed God is one.

1 Corinthians 8:6
…for us there is but one God, the Father.

Galatians 3:20
Now a mediator is not for one party only; whereas God is only one.

James 2:19
You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder

2) Jesus Says The Father is the Only One Who is Truly God

We are instructed to believe in two distinct individuals, one of which is God, the other is not.

JESUS’ TESTIMONY

John 17:1-3
Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, "Father… This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

John 14:1
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; Believe also in me."

John 8:17-18
"I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other."

APOSTOLIC TESTIMONY

1 Corinthians 8:6
Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

3) Jesus Has a God

How can Jesus be God and have a God?

JESUS’ TESTIMONY

John 20:17
Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, 'I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.'"

Revelation 3:12
Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.

Mark 15:34
And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

APOSTOLIC TESTIMONY

Ephesians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Ephesians 1:17
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Romans 15:6
…so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

2 Corinthians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort…

4) God is Not a Man – Jesus is a Man

If God tells us plainly that He is not a man, how can we say there is a man who is God?

WHO GOD IS NOT:

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man,
that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Hosea 11:9
I will not execute My fierce anger; I will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God and not man, the Holy One in your midst, And I will not come in wrath.

1 Samuel 15:29
Also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.

Job 9:32
"For He is not a man as I am that I may answer Him, that we may go to court together."

WHO JESUS IS:

Acts 2:22
"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.

Acts 17:31

For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Romans 5:15
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man (Adam) how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

5) Jesus Prayed to God

Why would Jesus pray to God if he is God? If Jesus was praying to himself, or another part of himself, then it was just a game and not real, desperate supplication to a higher power. The Bible says Jesus prayed to "God" not just to "the Father".

Luke 6:12
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.

Hebrews 5:7
In the days of his flesh, he offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his piety.

Mark 1:35
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Matthew 11:25-26
At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth"

Matthew 14:23
After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.

Luke 22:32
But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.

John 12:27
"Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!"

6) God Cannot Be Tempted, But Jesus Was Tempted in Every Way As We Are

The Bible clearly tells us that Jesus was tempted and had to be tempted in every way. If Jesus is God, and since God cannot be tempted, then Jesus was not really tempted and it was all a farce. To be tempted means there is the possibility that evil may be chosen, which is impossible for anyone that is supposedly 100% God Almighty.

GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED IN ANY WAY

James 1:13
"… for God cannot be tempted by evil".

JESUS WAS TEMPTED IN EVERY WAY

Hebrews 4:15
"For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin."

Luke 4:2
… for forty days, being tempted by the devil.

7) God Cannot Die, Jesus Died

God alone has inherent immortality. If God died, the universe would collapse.
The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus died. It does not say that only a part of Jesus died.

GOD IS IMMORTAL

Romans 1:23
"and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles." -- Romans 1:23

1 Timothy 6:16
"God, who alone possesses immortality…"

JESUS DIED

Mark 15:44-45
Pilate wondered if he was dead by this time, and summoning the centurion, he questioned him as to whether he was already dead. And ascertaining this from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.

1 Corinthians 15:3
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.

8) Jesus is Subordinate to God

The Trinity says that the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
are co-equal.
The Bible says Jesus is not equal with God, rather it says that God is Jesus’ boss

John 14:28
… The Father is greater than I.

1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

9) Jesus Does Not Do His Own Will

If Jesus is God, how can Jesus not seek his own will, and yet be always seeking his own will?

Luke 22:42
… not my will but Yours be done.

John 5:30
… I do not seek my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.

10) Jesus Does Not Have Inherent Power or Authority

If Jesus is God Almighty, how is it that he so often claims to have no power, no authority, no initiative? How is it that the Apostles even claim Jesus was not the origin of Christ’s power and works

JESUS’ TESTIMONY

John 8:28
"I do nothing of my own initiative."

John 5:30
"By myself I can do nothing…"

John 5:27
"and He gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man."

John 14:10
"…the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the works."

APOSTOLIC TESTIMONY

Acts 2:22
"Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through him in your midst, just as you yourselves know--

Acts 17:31
For He (God) has set a day when He (God) will judge the world with justice through the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead."

Romans 10:9, Acts 13:30, 2:24, 10:40, etc.
But God raised him from the dead…

11) Everything Had to be Subjected

If Jesus is God from all eternity, how could it be that there was a time when things were not subjected to him? The New Testament says that there was a time when Jesus was subjected beneath the angels and did not have authority over all. This could never be of someone whom the Trinitarians claim never experienced a single moment where he was not fully God Almighty. God can never be put beneath His creations. Furthermore we see that it was not Jesus who subjected the world to himself, rather it was God that did it for him.

Ephesians 1:22
And He (God) put all things in subjection under his (Jesus) feet, and gave him (Jesus) as head over all things to the church, which is his body.

1 Corinthians 15:27
For "God has put all things in subjection under his feet." But when it says, "all things are put in subjection," it is plain that He (God) is excepted who put all things in subjection under him.

Psalm 110:1
YHWH says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."

Hebrews 2:9
but we do see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

12) Jesus Was Given a Name Higher Than the One He Had

The Bible says Jesus was given a name above every name because of his obedience. This obviously means that beforehand his name was not above every name. He had to die so that he could become the Lord of all creation, meaning he wasn’t beforehand.

Phillipians 2:8-11
… He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason God also highly exalted him, and bestowed on him a name which is above every name, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Hebrews 1:4
So he has become as much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they.

Romans 14:9
For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

13) Jesus Hands the Kingdom Over to God

If Jesus is God come to rule the world in the Kingdom, why would he hand the Kingdom over to God in a final act of submission so that "God" may rule over everything including Jesus?

1 Corinthians 15:24-28
then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when he has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For "He has put all things in subjection under his feet". But when he says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that he is excepted who put all things in subjection to him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all in all.

14) Jesus, the Second Adam

The New Testament constantly refers to Jesus as the Second, or the Last Adam, saying that Adam was a prototype of the Messiah. The Biblical Unitarian position clearly and perfectly explains this comparison: Jesus was ontologically exactly like Adam, who was the first human son of God. Adam was the human son of God who failed, Jesus is the one who is victorious. God’s solution to the problem of sin and death: another Adam, God’s only legal option according to Romans 5:12-19.
The Christian story is essentially the tale of two Adams, one who disobeys and loses the Kingdom, the other who obeys and reclaims the Kingdom.

Luke 3:38
…who was the son of Seth, who was the son of Adam, who was the son of God.

Romans 5:14
Yet death exercised dominion from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam, who is a type of the one who was to come. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man’s trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many. And the free gift is not like the effect of the one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brings justification. If, because of the one man’s trespass, death exercised dominion through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness exercise dominion in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Therefore just as one man’s trespass led to condemnation for all, so one man’s act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all. For just as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

1 Corinthians 15:21 and 22 (NRSV)
For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being. For as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ.

15) Jesus, Exactly Like His Brothers

The Bible says that Jesus is like me in every way, and actually had to be in order to atone for my sins. But if Jesus has two natures, two wills, or anything of the sort, then he is not like us in every way. Furthermore, God doesn’t have brothers or fellows, so how is it that the Bible says Jesus has these things?

Hebrews 2:17
Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Romans 8:29
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

Psalm 45:7
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
