(Luke 9:27) But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which
shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
(Mark 9:1) And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some
of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen
the kingdom of God come with power.
(Mat 16:28) Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall
not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his
kingdom.
The Gospel writers must be allowed to be their own interpreters. They must know what they meant when they wrote & narrated these things.
They recorded Jesus' prophecy and immediately afterwards they wrote ...
(Luke 9:28-29) And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
(Mark 9:2) And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
(Mat 17:1-3) And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
In other words, the writers penned the prophecy, and immediately afterwards penned the fulfillment of Jesus' words.

A PREVIEW OF
JESUS, THE SON OF MAN, IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD
What are the saints going to be like in the Kingdom?
(Dan 12:2-3) And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
(Mat 13:37-43) He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; ... 39 ... the harvest is the end of the world/AGE [i.e. this present evil age - Gal 1:4]; ... 40 ... so shall it be in the end of this world/AGE. 41 ... 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
(Luke 13:28) ... ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God ...
Peter, James & John, therefore, saw a preview/vision of the Kingdom of GOD in power. They saw the Son of Man come in his Kingdom with power.
They saw Jesus shine even as all the saints shall shine like the sun in the Kingdom.
They saw (in a vision) Moses and Elijah in glory, even as they shall see all the prophets of GOD in the Kingdom.
There is no need to change scripture or seek another interpretation. The Gospel writers show us what Jesus meant by his prophecy.

(Mat 17:9) And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying,
Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
Fortunately for us, the apostles did indeed tell us the vision.
(Mat 13:43) ... Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
